Bristol Library News

February is "Love Your Library Month"

"Love Your Library Month" is celebrated during February in libraries nationwide. This is a great time to recognize the important role libraries play in the cultural and economic success of local communities and the nation. Visit the Bristol Library and tell us what you love about our library. We invite the community to join us in celebrating all of the wonderful things you can do in the library – and all the great things the library can do for you!

Tuesday, February 25, is Library Advocacy Day in Albany and Bristol Library will be represented.   We'd love to have some patrons join us!  If you're interested in visiting our state house and meeting with our legislators to talk about our library and the need for increased library funding, please email our Manager, Fran De Nardo

Consider volunteering at the Bristol Library

It's another way to say "I love the library."   What do our volunteers do?  Well, we have volunteers that help shelve books, read to children at Story Time, teach classes, make treats for various events, shovel our sidewalks, serve as Trustees, recycle bottles and cans, landscape our grounds, bring books to those patrons who aren't able to get out, and other activities that allow them to invest "sweat equity" in our library.  We thank them all.  If you'd like to join us, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Diane Fudalik,

A word from Fran De Nardo, Library Manager:

Welcome to February!  Let's hope Punxsutawney Phil does not see his shadow, but no matter if we get a longer winter or an early spring, it's always good to stop in at the Bristol Library.  This month we have a few new things.  Starting on February 4, due to popular demand, we have an additional Pre-School Story Time.  Please mark your calendars and plan to be here every first and third Tuesday from 11-11:30.
We've also added late-evening Euchre, starting Thursday, February 13, from 6-8 pm.  This will also allow us to be open an extra hour one night a week for your convenience to return and check out books and DVDs, use the computers, print, fax and make copies.  We'll still offer Euchre at 3-5 pm on Thursday afternoons.
During Winter Recess, from Feb. 18-22, we'll have STEM and craft activities in the children's room and PJ Story Time on Thursday, Februrary 20.  As a reminder, we'll be closed on February 17, President's Day.  Please contact the library if you have any questions and to sign up for programs.  Phone 585-229-5862 or email me at  Also, remember to keep an eye on our Facebook page our web page
